Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you. Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you. Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright. Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil.
If you have traveled much, you probably know the feeling of wondering if you were on the right road. Or you came to a fork in the road and it was not marked clearly.
On one of our trips with the kids in the church I thought I would cut off a few miles and so I started out on what seemed like a good road. Well the road had lots of curves so I saved no time and then I came to a fork in the road, there was no sign, no hint of which road would take me to the town I wanted to go. I sat there in great frustration for a few minutes, then I said I guess I will try this one and see where it goes. Well it did not get me to the town I wanted to go to. So I guess by now you can see that I spent some time going the wrong direction.
But our Heavenly Father who wants us to live eternally with Him has our road marked real good. We know without a doubt if we are going the right direction.
We will not get on the wrong road if we pay attention.
We will not get on the wrong road if we do not get sleepy
We will not get on the wrong road if we take direction from someone who knows the road well.
God does not intend for us to wander around, waste time and maybe get caught up in traffic that we can not get out of for miles before we can get back on the right road.
Thank God for the Holy Bible that makes choosing the right road easy.
Keep watching for all the signs and you will stay on the right road and your journey will be a pleasant one. And it will be a rewarded one.
